Beauty Box Alert!

I have been alerted by Beauty Box that Marc Jacobs and Yves Saint Laurent have been added to Beauty Box. I thought I would just let you know!!!

Travel Series: Staying Protected from the Sun

The last thing you want on holidays is to be sunburnt. Trust me, I got sunburnt and it was not a pleasure at all. So below are some products I recommend using to protect your skin that are based on what I have. These are products below just for going shopping etc.

1. Trilogy Vital Moisturising Cream
This product contains SPF 15 and is a great two-in-one. So as well as moisturising your face you are also providing your face with protection. I know that some shopping centres or buildings are partially outside and also walking to go shop can be out in the sun. It is for all skin types and protects skin from UV rays. This also makes a great make-up base.
2. Australis Paparazzi Perfect HD Tinted Moisturiser
This is like the product above. It contains SPF 1. The thing that is different is that is gives you more coverage and hide all imperfections. So if you are looking for a product with more coverage, this is the one.

Travel Series: Getting Great Deals!

Sorry for the lack of posts over the weekend. I have been sick and busy. Today I cleaned my room and went to a family friends' house who love to travel. They were telling me about shopping Hawaii and I am in the mood to do a post to build up on the Travel Series!
When shopping in different countries such as the US, you can find bargains by a click of a button. All the stores you want to visit normally have websites. Most websites have a loyalty club or email sign up. Sign up to these because you will receive special offers from them which you can use in store. They always have some sort of benefit for you!

They are all limited edition and can be purchased from Sephora. Just to let you know if you want to purchase them now you, have to be a member of the Sephora Beauty Insider Club.

Softlips Review: So good I want to eat it!!!

This is my first out of five Softlips reviews. I am reviewing the Vanilla Softlips today from the Core Range.   First of all it smells so good. The scent smells so creamy and milky as if you have bitten into a vanilla cupcake. It is a lip protectant and sunscreen. The product contains SPF 20 which is great because most lip products contain SPF 15 or SPF 7. It applies on nicely and it really makes my lips smooth. I can feel the Softlips working on my lips. The thing I love about these is that the thing that you twist it up with is long and thick. I have had problems with others because theirs is thin and short and it broke.

So I really like this and stay tuned for more reviews on Softlips to come xx

Travel Series: Samples & Plane Essentials

I'm still sick (sniffle) and decided to do the first Travel Series post about Samples and Plane Essentials in the way of beauty.
Yesterday I was browsing through my makeup and stumbled across some samples from show bags etc.
So, I realised how to use these to your advantage while travelling. When you are on a plane, your face gets dry. Everyone does, even if you have oily skin. To solve this problem, all you need to do is bring a few samples of moisturiser with you. If you don't have any, you can pick these up at your local Myer or David Jones.
If you have any other samples use them! I have a night renewal cream that I could put on before I go to sleep on the plane. I would avoid taking any cleanser as they involve water and the bathrooms are really tiny and inconvenient.
Moving on to Plane Essentials. I have three essentials so far for your skin when you are on the plane.
1. A Towelette or Cleansing Wipe
When you get the plane, you want to feel refreshed, right?
So using one cleansing wipe or towelette will freshen up your skin so you can enjoy your day.
I know when travelling to America and Hawaii, I mostly arrive in the morning of that same day!!

2. Body Lotion
As I mentioned above you skin can get dry. So use a body lotion to nourish your skin. You just have to apply it to your limbs and hands.

3. A lip balm
I live on lip balms and I would have to have one with me when I travel. I know when I sleep or travel my lips get really dry so that is why I carry my lip balm in my pocket.
Two of my Plane Essentials:
1. Burt's Bees Radiance Body Lotion

Review is coming soon

Update

Hey everyone!
This is my third blog post. Woah, this is great! As you can tell the site has been updated. I made a logo themed for prior to going to Hawaii. I know people were probably thinking "why in the world does she have a hula girl holding beauty products". Well, this is why. I have been sick lately. So today I made long videos of all my favourite beauty gurus to put on my iPod. I have a lot of product reviews coming up because I have a lot of products to show you. So yeah, this post was just to tell you why the site changed and what is coming up. Hint: the next blog post is travelled themed!

Thanks Batiste!

I have been pretty sick for the past two days so I haven't been the best. So this morning I was all rugged up until a van parked outside my house and handed me a little blue gift bag. It made my day.

Inside was gold tissue paper, two brochures and two full sized Dry Shampoos; one in Fresh and the other in Coloured.

So I am really happy, thanks to Batiste. I will be doing a review and hair tutorial on these products in the holidays!

Beauty Watch: I discovered a new brand!

BWell, as you know I got new products and among all of it, I found a new brand I have never heard of; Ere Perez. It is 100% Australian owned and is all natural which I love. So below is the four products I found and a bit about them:
Natural Vanilla Highlighter in the shade Falling Star
It gives your skin a healthy looking complexion and it adds a natural glow to all skin. To use at your greatest advantage, apply on cheek bones, around eyes, lips, neck or even the highest point of the eyelid. It looks really soft and nice.
Natural Translucent Corn Powder in the shade One for All
This product controls shine and can be used by all skin tones as a primer or finishing powder or even an eyeshadow. It is a non - oily formula that doesn't dry out your skin. So basically it is the all round make - up tool. If you are on the run or your are late all you need to do is take this product to achieve a beautiful look.
Natural Carrot Cheek and Lip Balm in the shade Healthy
This is a natural balm to add extra colour to your lips or cheeks. To apply this you have to blot it on your cheeks or apply it to your lips normally.
Natural Beetroot Cheek and Lip Tint in Joy
This is another product giving you colour to your lips and cheeks. It has a rollerball applicator and is a red sort of colour.

All these products are made of natural crops which is great and all smell alright! Take a look at their website here!

An inspirational video... Dove's Evolution

Above is an inspirational video showing how our perception of beauty can be distorted. Check this video out and Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty because I feel sometimes we should lead by our inner beauty and not always be "made - up" xx

Beauty Watch: Products I am Eager to Try

Ok, well thanks to a generous friend from Pretty Is Blog, I got a lot of beauty products, ranging from skin care to brow products.
So I picked five products from all that I got that I want to try the most. I had to admit that this was pretty hard.
Too Faced Brow Envy
This product is described as a "Brow Shaping and Defining Kit" that "will have you arched, defined and framed like a star!" It contains wax, a powder in Ash Blonde and a powder in Deep Brunette. There are also three stencils, each with a unique name; Glamour Girl, Femme Fatale and Girl Next Door. I found this very cute. In this kit there is also a small silver pair of tweeers with the brand name in pink, a black and pink angled brush and a pink spotty double sided tool; an eye pencil on one side and a brow brush on the other. The whole kit is really pretty. The inside is lined with black with pink polka dots and includes a mirror. The final aspect which I love is that it has cute step by step cartoons on the back telling you how to use this. Its the best brow kit I have ever seen.

Lush Summer Pudding Soap
This is their newest soap. It is described as "a slice of summer" and that it is great "whatever the weather". So it is a great product to get you out of the mid - winter blues. Summer Pudding is full of vibrant colours such as green, pink and yellow. It has a very fruity scent and I am eager to see the end results on my skin once I use it.
Clean and Clear Deep Action In Shower Facial
Well, this is a new product from Clean and Clear which I've heard a lot about. Of course it is oil free and doesn't clog pores which is great. It says that it "works with the steam of your shower" and "detoxifies, smoothes and softens skin in one minute".

Loreal Paris Infallible Brush
This is a high precision foundation brush with foundation. It says "it fights the signs of make - meltdown". This product is for normal to oily skin and gives you a fine matte finish. Loreal Paris Infallible Brush is also a new product out which I have been eying.
Australis Paparazzi Perfect High Definition Blush
This is a new range from Australis I have always wanted to buy. The product is described as "a blush that blurs pores, fine lines and other imperfections leaving a perfectly flawless and glowing finish". It also contains jojoba and grapeseed oil to lock in skin moisture. I love how the blush looks pixelated with three shades of pink.

Once again thanks to Miss Chelsea for giving me these products as well as many others xx

Burt's Bees: Natural with Radiance

Tonight I tried another Burt's Bees product to go along with my post about the fantastic body wash yesterday. So the body wash says to follow it up with your favourite body lotion. This was my chance to try Radiance Body Lotion.
The main ingredient is this lotion is Royal Jelly and it is very nourishing. First of all, the scent of this is so beautiful. I just love it. Radiance smells very floral, fresh and fragrant. Another aspect I love is that this product is very thin and therefore when you apply it you don't feel sticky at all. The scent lingers on which is noticeable and delightful. My skin feels even smoother and I just feel that my skin is so much more hydrated. Say good - bye to dry skin because this body lotion is great! This product retails for $24.95 from http://www.burtsbees.com.au/ and other stores.

Burt's Bees Review: OMG I love this Body Wash!

Fifteen minutes ago, I used my Naturally Nourishing Milk and Shea Butter Body Wash from Burt's Bees. I love it. First of all, the smell is delightful. It has a scent that is creamy, sweet and milky. It comes across bubbly and thin. The body wash lathered on so nicely. It was just beautiful. This product felt so smooth on my skin and nourishing.
Now my skin smells creamy like the body wash. It feels hydrated and so smooth. I just love this and is perfect for Winter because it is hydrating and has a smell that reminds me of Winter. I cant explain how much I love this. The body wash works better when you use one of their body lotions after. This products retails for $19.95. Check out Burt's Bees website (www.burtsbees.com.au)
I will be doing more reviews on Burt's Bees so stay tuned!

Belated May Favourites

Well this is late but this post is about the products I grabbed the most in May. Before I start here is beautyfix's month of May in photos!
1. Spa Paradisa Jasmine and Ylang - Ylang Body Butter
As you know I did a post on this product. I have been using this a lot as my skin is getting dry and it smells like a certain shop in Hawaii. I am not going into detail about this product as I did a post about this.
www.spaparadisa.com

2. Lux Supreme Cream
My usual soap is Lux Supreme Cream. It is in bar form and lathers up really nicely. It smells really nice and fragrant. It has peach and moisturising cream. It leaves my skin feeling really soft and clean which I love and is one of the reasons why I use it.

3. Anti Blemish Solutions Samples
I have also done a blog post on this so I won't be going into much detail. I have used this product a lot because it makes my skin clear and it does not take ten minutes to do it. There is only three products involved and I love it because it works with my skin to tackle my imperfections.

4. Lady Speed Stick
This product has been my everyday deodorant and I love it. It is an American product and gives you protection 24/7. It has a fresh scent. Lady Speed Stick is a solid so it applies on dry which is great as it does not give you that sticky feeling.

5.Manicare Nail Dryer
This is one of my favourites as well. I have used quite a lot because it fastens up the drying process which anyone loves.

Recycle your Beauty Products!

Finished your bottle of toner and about to throw it in the bin? Well dont, because it's time to go green and re - use your beauty containers.
Everyone travels once in a while and you have to take your full size beauty products with you. This means less space in your suitcase for shopping!

Recipe for recycling your beauty products!
Ingredients:
 - Small empty bottles from beauty products (even samples)
Method:
1. Collect your bottles
2.Fill up your bottle with beauty products
Tips:
1. Try and match the products to the bottle e.g. Clinique Cleanser in a Clinique Cleanser bottle
2. If you can't match all products, redecorate and label the bottles to match the products
3. If you are going away for less than a week, using bottle from samples are ideal

I hope you enjoyed this and contact us via twitter (@beautyfix000) to tell us if it worked for you xx

The Beauty Sampler Box is coming to AUSTRALIA!!!

I'm so excited!. So today I was watching some videos and there was one about Birchbox. I thought what a fantabulous idea. So I did my research and couldn't find any Beauty Samplers in Australia or that shipped to here. Well that was until I stumbled over Haute Box. Coming in Winter 2011, Haute Box is not the beauty sampler box for Australia. How exciting!! There are also two other boxes coming around at the same time; Red Meow and The Beauty Box.                                                                                         If you don't know what a beauty sample box is, it's when you pay to recieve a box full of beauty samples (varying from 5 - 8 each box). It gets delivered to your door so you get to try out products before buying the full size. I love these because they open me up to all new brands and products without paying a fortune.

Haute Box has 6-8 samples and is going to retail for $15 a month (a box a month) from this link!. If you visit their website, you might notice they have a competition. So if you spread the news you can win a year subscription to Haute Box!
Red Meow has 4-5 samples and is going to retail for $9.95 from this link!.
The Beauty Box has 4-5 samples and is going to retail for $15 from this link!.
